Operation Christmas Child Boxes

It’s shoebox packing time around Pillar Dumfries!

In Easter, we were visited by Alex, who shared with us how “God brought life out of death, beginning with a little Christmas Shoebox he received through Samaritan’s Purse’s program Operation Christmas Child. Alex told us his story and how God used Operation Christmas Child to impact his life, introducing him to the Gospel- introducing him to Jesus and the gift of forgiveness. “Receiving that shoebox was just the beginning of my faith. I started to understand that the world has not forgotten. It reminded us that someone out there cared for us… coming to understand that God loved me, and God loves not just me, but everybody. Including those who killed my family.”

If you would like to hear more stories like Alex’s, meet Prakash, a young boy from Nepal. There are many others, including videos on How To Pack Your Shoebox! You may go to the SamaritansPurse website to find them all.

You may bring in Operation Christmas Child boxes any time and leave them under the table in the lobby near the entrance.

The last Sunday to bring in boxes is November 16th (the following week is National Collection Week when they will be taken to Lake Ridge Baptist). Monday evening, November 17th, we will be hosting a final collection night and special time of prayer as a part of our regularly scheduled prayer meeting. During the evening, we will have activities for the children related to Operation Christmas Child and pack any remaining boxes.
